Well after a well earned month off in december hijacked is glad to be back bigger and better and have some big big things instore for 2010. In November we are proud to bring to the HIJACKED floor JAY CUNNING, A DJ for the people, always aiming to please the crowd through an energetic and eclectic mix of no-nonsense music”
Jay Cunning’s been in the mix since day one with various styles of Old Skool, House, DnB and dare we say it; Garage. In 1996 he started to consolidate this jockey sluttage and opted for a bit of monogamy and settled down with Breakbeat.
Nowadays his Weekly show on Kiss FM, international gigs and the running of Menu Music sees Jay as one of the hardest working DJs on the scene.
Since his early residency on Breaks FM back in 99 to his 5 year residency @ The End with Andy C’s Ram Records Jay’s versatility he’s seen him putting about across the world from Russia to Canada, Spain to New Zealand and has acclaimed production collaborations with some of these scenes finest.
Jay joined forces with Atomic Hooligan in 2004 to form ‘Menu Music’, a concept that focus’s on throwing up big party tunes on their now highly acclaimed record label.
2009 saw Jay pick up the mantle once more to start Sub Slayers, a brand new record label focusing on tough Breakbeat with a twist of Dubstep.

After last years success, Hijacked will be returning to Thomas’ bar for our annual Halloween bash. So get your costumes out and get ready for some seriously eerie electro and breaks that go bump in the night!
Also we will be featuring a very special “freaky” four record friday and we’re asking everyone to bring along at least one halloween themed tune amongst their four.

No, seriously, she’d be proud. Hijacked’s second turn out at York’s newest and only (literally!) underground venue, the Hub was a resounding success, a true party in Hijacked style, with record numbers through door and a stunning set from special guests, Leuce Rhythms, who, like all our guests, loved the night, loved the music and loved the crowd. We can expect to see those boys back for another slot seomtime in the near future.
Hijacked is back at the Hub in November with Kiss FM’s very own Jay Cunning, keep watching this space for updates, but before then we have Hijacked’s 2nd annual Halloween party at the much loved Thomas’ bar, Sat 31st October doors open at 9 and it’s £4 in or £3 for anyone in fancy dress – get your frocks on!

Well what can we say, WOW what a night, SLYDE were amazing, literally blew the roof off the HUB. Big big thanks to everyone who rocked it out all night, some seriously sweaty, smiling faces on the dance floor - just the way we like it.
This month we are bringin leeds based duo LEUCE RYTHMS;
Leuce Rhythms’ Philosophy is simple; Fuse together all that is good in electronic music to create a pumpin’, funkin’ and down-right filthy Breakbeat sound. Forged through the DJ combination of Richard Hale (A.K.A Hale D’Vibe) and Dan De Lissandri; Leuce Rhythms have exploded onto the Breakbeat scene, setting alight dance floors across Europe, quickly earning them a party reputation that is guaranteed never to disappoint. The transition from DJs into the realms of production was only a matter of time. Their skills have transferred fluidly from the stage into the studio. Recent events see Leuce Rhythms teaming up with Royal One Records to bring you their latest release ‘Rubber Tongue’, cementing the fact that, this is the act to watch out for in 2009!

Well after a year at Thomas’s Hijacked is sad to say its leaving, but not without good cause. In september HIJACKED will taking up residence at the H.U.B yorks new home for top notch dance music we think this is the best move for us taking hijacked to the next level. We would like to take this opertunity to thank everybody that has stuck by us through the hard times, the good times and all the venue changes you know who you are big up.
In september we will be having a re-launch party, we are proud to be bringing you Slyde from the legenday Finger Lickin records. And have more treats in the pipeline.
